Hacos takes Prefamac under its wing

September 2, 2025

As a Belgian colleague company, Hacos deeply regrets that Prefamac had to close its books, all the more so because, apart from a few similarities, they were not really competitors.

Hacos will continue to produce the machines in the factory in Oostmalle., which were made by Prefamac and for which Hacos has no comparable alternative in its range,

It will therefore mainly be the quick melters and chocolate flaking machines that will complete the Hacos range.

After that, the temper meter and other developments will also receive the necessary attention. Where Hacos and Prefamac had an overlapping range (melting kettles, enrobing machines, cooling tunnels), Hacos will only offer its own machines. Hacos has built up a reputation that guarantees quality and service and wants to continue this for the Prefamac range. Hacos has already proven that it is capable of this with the successful acquisitions of Collmann and BCT. Hacos will also do its utmost to continue to maintain existing Prefamac machines. To this end, as many spare parts as possible were taken over from the bankruptcy. Hacos regrets the fact that it has not been able to take over staff from Prefamac. The distance between the 2 factories is an obstacle, but the few employees who were left have since found shelter elsewhere. With this acquisition, Hacos strengthens its position in the market for machines for the chocolate industry, where it is already among the absolute top.
